The Rev. Laurence B. Upham

Upham, Laurence B., Reverend, 83, of Clearwater, went to be with his Savior and Lord on January 16, 2018, two days before his 84th birthday. He was a graduate of Admiral Farragut Academy (1953), Florida Southern College (1957), and served in the US Army and USAF AUX. He was an associate Priest at St. Dunstan’s Anglican Church in Largo, Florida. Formerly, he was co-owner of the Upham Insurance Agency in St. Petersburg; a member of Northside Lodge 283 F & AM, Scottish Rite and Egypt Temple Shrine; served as Chaplain at Admiral Farragut Academy where he was appointed Life Trustee and active in the Alumni Association and Foundation. His activities over the years ranged from Suncoasters and Clown Alley to flying as a mission pilot for Civil Air Patrol and volunteering at Heritage Village. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 61 years, Kathryn S. Upham of Clearwater; daughters, Leslie (Darren) Strahl of Las Vegas, NV, Cindy (Bob) Kelly of Palm Harbor, FL, Laura (Bill) Farley, of Ave Maria, FL, Mary (Chuck) Hinton of Safety Harbor, FL; and 11 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. A service will be held Friday, January 26, 2018 at St. Dunstan’s Anglican Church, 2790 Sunny Breeze Avenue, Largo, FL 33770. Memorial donations may be made to Admiral Farragut Foundation, St. Dunstan’s Anglican Church and Suncoast Hospice.
