

Kohl, Mary Catherine Wyandt, 86, of Largo, died Monday Nov. 7, 2011 at Largo Medical Center. Born May 30, 1925 in Abilene, KS, Mary was the daughter of Dudley and Catherine Ainsworth Wyandt. Mrs. Kohl graduated from Washington University College of Medical Technology, St. Louis, MO. Mary worked for various hospitals as a medical technologist for 35 years, including a position as Director of the Endocrinology Laboratory at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Hartford, CT. She enjoyed playing tennis and bridge, and loved to travel. Mrs. Kohl was raised Episcopal and converted to Catholicism in her 70’s following a trip to Israel. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and a docent at the Gulf Coast Museum of Art. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Carl A. Kohl of Largo, whom she married September 6, 1947; sons Dr. Charles A. Kohl of Boston, MA, Dr. David W. (Susan) Kohl of St. Petersburg, FL and John “Rob” (Nancy) Kohl of Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren Lauren Kohl, Jesse Kohl, and Charles Kohl of Boston, MA, Kaitlin Kohl of Revere, MA, Aaron (Angela) Kohl and Rachel Kohl of Atlanta, GA, Kathryn Kohl of Boca Raton, FL, Sarah (Jonathan) Kohl Gray of Orlando, FL, and Robby (Jessica) Hallet and Lisa Hallet of St. Petersburg, FL; great grandchildren Scarlet Lespier of Revere, MA, Noah Walker of Atlanta, GA, and Ethan Hallet of St. Petersburg, FL. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Saturday Nov. 12 at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church, with a reception to follow. There will be no calling hours. Cremains will be buried in Bay Pines National Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Moss Feaster Funeral Home-Serenity Gardens Chapel. Online condolences may be made at www.mossfeasterlargo.com.
