Michael A Breheny

BREHENY, Michael A, 88 of Madeira Beach passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017. Michael was born on July 5, 1929 in Queens, NY to the late Michael & Margaret (Mulvaney) Breheny. He moved to Florida in 1977. Michael was a retired Sergeant with the New York City Police Department. Upon moving to Florida, Michael worked as a US Customs Officer. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the Police Benevolent Association, the Sergeants Benevolent Association, the American Legion Post 0273, the Suncoast 10-13 Club and the Knights of Columbus in both New York and Florida. Michael was predeceased by his siblings Maureen Gurican, John Breheny, Eugene Breheny & Thomas Breheny, as well as his first wife of 51 years, Angela C Breheny. He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years Catherine and his children Michael V Breheny of Naples, FL, Robert J (Lisa) Breheny of Rockport, Maine, Matthew G (Lynn) Breheny of Naples, FL and Diane Breheny Skillen of Largo, FL. Also 10 grandchildren Michael Breheny, Daniel Breheny, Kali Breheny, Alana Breheny, Adan Breheny, Sean Breheny, Erin Breheny, Amanda (Adam) Pignon, Vincent Skillen & Carlie Skillen, 2 great grandchildren Grayson Charles Breheny & Nolan Adam Pignon and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the ALS Association. Friends will be received on Tuesday, August 8th from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm at the Serenity Gardens Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL (727)562-2080. Funeral Services will follow on Wednesday, August 9th at 11 am at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church, 10895 Hamlin Blvd, Largo, FL.
