

Nancy was born December 7, 1938 to Urvan and Eleanore Gibbon in Ohio. She grew up in Madison, Ohio on the shore of Lake Erie. She had two siblings, Barbara and Dale. Nancy played the trombone in the Madison Marching Band, was a majorette and served on the homecoming court at her high school. Nancy married her high school sweetheart Earl Smith and had two children Debbie and Diane. Nancy was widowed in 1958 and married Lou Vogelsang in 1960 and had two children Barbara and David. Nancy was active at the Chapel Methodist church in Madison. Nancy enjoyed boating, waterskiing, golfing, played euchre and loved music and dancing. The family moved to Howland Ohio, where Nancy raised her children and volunteered at a children’s rehab center. In 1977 the family moved to Largo Florida where Nancy worked in banking for 22 years before retiring. While living in Largo Nancy was very active in her Church and choir at Anona Methodist church, even traveling to Europe with the choir to sing at churches in Salzburg, Berlin, Munich and Vienna. In her retirement Nancy and her husband of 49 years Lou, spent summers in Thompson, Ohio to be close to family. Nancy was a devoted mother and grandmother to her grandchildren, Christopher and Carrie. Everyone loved Nancy’s kind spirit.
