Mom was enjoying the Quote's I was sending out to Family and Friends. So I started printing out some for her. She asked me to start looking for some that spoke of Death so these are a few. Dear Bob and Family:

It was with such sadness that we learned the news about Pat at our Dad's funeral (Larry Gallagher) just this past Saturday.  Even in the depth of our own sorrow we felt such deep sadness over the loss of your beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and incredible friend to so many.  My parents, Joanne and Larry, held Pat in the highest regard and they loved her like family.  Pat walked the walked and showed all who had the privilege of knowing her the deep faith she had no matter what the circumstances.  My mother, Joanne, loved her like a sister and was in awe of Pat's deep faith and commitment to her God.  I know she and my Mom shared a tremendous devotion to the Blessed Mother and their deep faith bonded them closely.  Pat was always gracious and kind and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.  Our family felt terrible that we were unaware of her passing as we would have been at her memorial services on behalf of our parents who could no longer be there.  I find comfort in knowing that my mom and Pat are together again as dear friends and have met their Creator, His Son and His Blessed Mother. Now let's hope that they have let our Dad into their very tightly knit circle. :-) May you find comfort in all the wonderful memories from the life you shared with her and look forward to knowing you will be together again. I remember my "Aunt Pat" as a wonderful woman, very strong in her Catholic faith.  My deepest condolences to her husband of 75 years "Uncle Bob".

You are the reason I'm the woman I am today.  You gave me a foundation, you taught me unconditional love and passion for others.  I'm blessed and thankful that you are my Nana.

I am Blessed, Blessed, Blessed!!!!! To have known such an awesome woman!! Pat started out as one of my massage clients, and I believe I KEPT HER UPRIGHT AND ABLE TO WALK FOR MANY YEARS!! 
As our relationship grew, she became more of a spiritual mother to me. She taught me the rosary, and invited me to her Cenacle meetings. We would spend many hours discussing the Saints, Christian
Mystics and Doctrines of the church. Between the two of us, I think we read every book, and listened to every audio piece they have at the Catholic Diocese Library!! Pat gifted me with one of her beautiful angels,
And also the contemplative Monk picture that graced her dining room for so many years, which I always admired. It now graces my dining room table, in case any family members wondered where it went!! I will never forget this beautiful soul and the time we had together. May she be richly blessed as she now continues her journey on the eternal shores!!!!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!!!

Patricia Ann Burns had many facets to her life.  She was a mother, a grandmother, a wife of 75 years, a friend to many, godmother, and foremost a Catholic Christian.  In each capacity, she more than set the standard for those who knew her.  No one could have asked for a better grandmother.  She was a example of faith, perseverance, humility, and mostly love.  Though she is no longer present in body, I know she is here in spirit.  We are not truly gone from this life until everyone who ever knew us is also gone.  From the many people who paid their respects, she will be with us for a long, long time to come.  I am eternally grateful to have been a part of her life.

I will miss you Grandma, Thank you for the red wagon, Pops and I have had so much fun going to the pool and the beach in it. I love you and will miss you. When I ring the bell I think of you!!! Your Grand daughter Madison

My memories of Aunt Pat go back nearly 60 years. She was my God Mother, and that was as important to me as it was to her.  I remember an unfailingly sweet, kind and loving woman whose faith was an inspiration to me.  I have no question where she is now, and she has more than earned her place in heaven.

Hi Mom, Today we let you go for good to go to where you've wanted to be for years. We can't say how proud we are of you for standing up for your beliefs. We want to Thank you for setting such a high bar for us to follow. I know that you will still be looking down expecting us to do what is the proper thing to do in life and follow your example!!!! Aunt Pat..thanks for the many wonderful gifts you have given us over the years. I doubt I ever told you how much we enjoyed your annual Christmas letters, especially when we were overseas as it reminded us of the importance of family.  And you may have guessed how much I enjoyed replying and bringing your up to date on the delicacies (haha) we were eating in other parts of the world.
There were too many gifts to mention all of them but one I want to really highlight. We all knew this day would come someday, and also knew it would be a day of sadness for us.  But you let us know that it was a day of joy for you. What an inspiration! I can't say I'm looking forward to passing but because of you, I no longer view that day with fear.  And I'm sure I am not alone.
Thanks for a such a wonderful and lasting gift! It's one we will cherish until we meet again.

What an instrument of the Holy Spirit!  Pat never failed to inspire us and show us true love for God.  She remembered us every Christmas, birthday and wedding anniversary for over 30 years with beautiful cards and blessings.  It has been our privilege to have her for a friend.  She will be greatly missed.

I will remember Bob and Pat Burns as a loving couple my wife and I saw many times on Sunday mornings for breakfast and the little visits we had just before we left, after eating. May the Lord help you and your family through this part of your life.

  I read Patricia's obituary and wrote a message in the guest book (although I haven't seen it published yet).
   But I wanted to share with you the experience of my visits with her at Palm Gardens during my short assignment at our friary in Seminole. Obviously I did not have the pleasure of knowing her for a long time, but it is not always necessary to know someone for a long time to read their heart and for them to read yours.
   We are all sinners and Patricia was not the exception - only the mother of Jesus was! But in the time of her suffering, I believe that Patricia came to know Jesus in a way that few of us do - she accepted the cross given to her to share with him as so few do. 
   It is my theological opinion that although we are all sinners,God desires us all to be saved and to be with Him and those we love forever in joy. But in justice, each of us must suffer the consequences of our wrongdoings in life. Our sufferings do not necessarily correspond to our sins. Some suffer much more than they perhaps deserve, and I believe that those people, like Patricia, are atoning not only for their own faults but are saving others who perhaps could not or would not accept their own just punishment.
  I have been a priest for 32 years and have visited countless suffering and dying people.Most are afraid (which is too bad because if they only knew how they are so loved by him who died for them!). Some are angry at God, which is OK because they need to blame someone for the actions of their lives, but then there are those very few, like Patricia, who somehow found the faith to know that when the time came, and the suffering was over, she would share in the eternal joy of all the saints!
   It was a great grace from God to have allowed me to have spent some time with her, and although I cannot be there with you tomorrow physically, I will certainly be there with you spiritually.

Dear Blessed Pat! I will never forget you. Your loving care and support spiritually of me left a permanent  footprint in my heart and even more so in my soul. I'm sad you're gone but so happy you are with Jesus. You were such an inspiration to so many and your light here will never be extinguished. Peace and Love to Bob as he goes forward without you. Your love together was so beautiful and inspiring. I will miss you much, my friend.

    To those of you who may not know me, I am Mark Boehnert, the youngest son of Tom Boehnert and Agnes (Burns) Boehnert. My mom was one of Uncle Bob's older sisters. My perspective on Aunt Pat is that of a distant nephew. Over the years we have kept in touch by Christmas cards, occasional phone calls, and a few get togethers. Nevertheless, I feel that I have lost someone very close to me.

    We all know about Pat's strong religious convictions. It was how she defined herself. But she went so far beyond that. What stood out to me was her faith and spirituality, how she internalized the message of her religion and then externalized it with warmth and kindness.

    The last time I saw Aunt Pat was several years ago when she and Bob visited me in Boston. What impressed me about Pat was her absolute sense of calm. She radiated a confidence that only comes when someone is eminently comfortable in their own skin. I remember in our conversations that I got the feeling that no matter what I would ask her, no matter how difficult or controversial the topic, she would offer a response based on her faith and spiritual grounding. Such people are rare. I found her manner incredibly charming and inspirational.

    Uncle Bob told me she died peacefully, surrounded by those who loved her. He also added that at one point Aunt Pat expressed some frustration that God was proceeding slower with her demise than she expected. Well, I guess He's in for it now. 

    My love and condolence to Uncle Bob and family for a long life lived so well.

We had a short time together however it was a loving experience that will always be in my heart. Fr Michael gave me a part of your heart before he left and he should only know that this was a gift to have always. Meeting you was as though a flame was ignited and I knew you forever and will always know you . We also had some great conversations especially the one about Annie Burns in NY and you saying that she might be a relative of Roberts. Would that not be a miracle?
I know now... you are with HIM and He has given you all that was promised to you no pain, no worries, no crying, no sickness only the grandest of all heavens treasures. These you well deserved especially towards the end you held on to life such as it was as a offering to HIM for soul's that want to be in heaven. I am not ashamed to say that I am envious.I know that someday with your help I will see you especially with what I whispered in your ear and we will continue our "talks". In the meantime I will be praying for you and to you and you enjoy all that HE promised. You are HIS faithful servant.

How I wish it was a wee bit longer knowing Patricia. The short time I had her company was an igniting flame in my heart and felt as though we knew each other a long time, Now that is affection 100 %. She and I had some small talks when she was able and some were quite funny. We spoke about a friend of mine in NY who was named Annie Burns and Patricia said could be a relative of Bob's.Now would that not be a miracle? You are my dear, dear heart with the ONE who will give you everything He has to offer and it will be spectacular. You are so fortunate to be with Him and I am not ashamed to say I am envious. Father Michael loved you and before he left he gave me your heart that will "always" be beating in mine. How fortunate can one become?

We are so sorry to hear of Pat's passing. She was such a sweet lady. We always enjoyed her loving and sweet words of wisdom. Always thinking about others. She made fabulous banana bread and she always made sure her friends received some. We always enjoyed watching her walk for exercise always so enthusiastic and happy in doing so. She was so positive and very kind to others. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Pat was such a special lady, we are so sorry to hear of her passing. Always sharing her sweet words of wisdom with us... always with her sweet smile and  a very positive attitude. We have many fond memories of her. I will always remember her fabulous banana bread and how she enjoyed making sure all her friends were given one. Watching her walk for exercise was most enjoyable.. she was always so enthusiastic.  Sending our thoughts and prayers to her family.

Miss Pat was truly a wonderful person and good neighbor, whom I had the pleasure of getting to know by seeing her sitting outside with her daughter enjoying the sounds of nature and the Glorious Day That God Has Given Us. As the priest who helped out at Blessed Sacrament Church during 2015-16, I first met Pat through her devoted husband Bob. Pat and I had many special conversations about our love of Jesus and what it would be like to speak to him face to face. I have absolutely no doubt that this special lady is in his presence now, praying for us.

So sorry to hear that Ms. Patricia passed away. My thoughts are with her family and friends. Proverbs 2:21,22

Pat was truly a wonderful lady.  Our family has several fond memories of our visits to see the Burns family in Florida as well as their visits to see us in Chicago.  Many good times with lots of laughs.  Pat taught our Mom several of her craft ideas like the famous Christmas Ball Ornament, knitted hot pads, needlepoint coaster sets with our initials, the needlepoint N-O-E-L banner and many other Christmas ornaments.  After learning, Mom made all of these items for each of the family members and several  friends --- all items which we still cherish today will always remind us of Mom/Pat when we pull these items out.  Pat also knitted slippers for all the ladies and grandchildren which affectionately became known as and still referred to today as Mrs. Burns' Slippers.  The most cherished item was the years and years of rosaries Pat made for the family, I still have at least 3-4 of these and the very first one she made for me was for my 1st Holy Communion.  May Pat rest in God's peace and may she continue to teach all her craft ideas to the other angels in heaven.  Love from the Brichetto Family.
