Peter was a successful musician. He graduated from Berkley College of Music in Boston. He played the saxophone and flute, but was widely regarded for sounding akin to Miles Davis when he was playing the trumpet. In his spare time Peter enjoyed going to the beach, traveling, and gardening. Over his years Peter cared for many pet fish and birds. Peter was passionate about cooking for his family. He loved spending holidays in the kitchen and seeing his family indulge in the fruits of his labor, and then gathering around together following a meal to enjoy one another’s company.
Peter is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Laurie, and their son, Andrew. He is also survived by his brother, Stefan Malyj; brothers in law, David John Stevenson and Michael Alan Stevenson; mother in law; Annie Flanagan, and his beloved pet parakeet: Buddy Love.
A service to honor Peter’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 18th at 2pm at Serenity Funeral Home.
