

Lecceardone, Philip L “Phil”, 92 of Largo, Florida passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Largo Medical Center. Phil was born on February 8, 1921 in Red House, New York to the late Lewis & T. Grace (Policastro) Lecceardone. When he was 3 years old his father died and his mother remarried Donald Amy who raised and loved Phil as his own son. Phil met the love of his life Elizabeth “Libby” Cavalletti, they married and have been together almost 73 years. They started their lives and family in Salamanca, NY and later then moved to Hornell, NY. Phil worked as a Brakeman for the Erie Railroad. In 1965 he made a career change and moved to Elmira, NY where he opened and operated the LaFrance Grill until 1972. At that time he and his wife traveled together around the United States in their motor home. They settled in 1974 here in Florida. Phil is survived by his loving wife Libby of Largo, FL, a son Lewis (Cathy) Lecceardone of Clearwater, FL, four daughters Judith (Ron) Woodbury of Palmetto, FL, Sandra (Jerry) Layton of Wilmington, NC, Phyl Marie Smith of Seminole, FL and Susie Davis of Seminole, FL. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren Danny, Kelly, Jim, Tammy, Sherry, Larry, Donald, Philip, Kristin, Philip, Amy, Abraham and Helaine, 22 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Phil was preceded in death by his brother Leslie Lecceardone. Friends are calling on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 from 2 – 8 PM at the Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774, Ph# 727-562-2080. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 11 AM at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 10895 Hamlin Blvd, Largo, FL 33774. After the Committal Service at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park everyone is invited to join the family at the Clubhouse in Tamarac by the Gulf at 9099 141st St., Seminole, FL for a reception.
