Richard was born on October 29, 1949 in Wilmington, Delaware to Gloria Edith McClane and Richard Dewitt Turley.
He graduated from Northeast High School in 1968. He worked for the Chicago Sun-Times and the St. Petersburg Times as an obituary writer and later as a Parish Administrator for Trinity Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Glen Turley.
He leaves behind his 2 sisters, Marcia Johnson of St. Petersburg and Sheralee Turley and her husband Steven Jones of Sebring.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
