

Lt. Col Permar, Robert T. "Bob", USAF Retired 93 of Largo, FL passed away on Saturday, Sept 24, 2011 under the care of Suncoast Hospice at his home. Bob was born on November 15, 1917 in Fountainville, PA. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII as a navigator for 4 years, attaining the rank of captain when he left active service in 1945. He then spent 22 yrs in the Reserves, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. Bob also taught Jr. High School for 22 years in the Pinellas County School System, as a substitute teacher. During the war, Bob met and married army nurse Helen Homan and had four sons. Helen preceded him in death along with a son Timothy Arthur Permar. Surviving is his loving wife Lillian Permar of Largo, FL, three sons Robert William (Bill) and James Bradford (Brad) both of Peachtree City, GA and Thomas Andrew (Tom) of Morgan, UT. Along with a step son Dick and wife Phyllis Nordman of Largo and a step daughter Nancy Luby of Hancock, NH. Nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and two sisters Sara Andre of Bucks County, PA and Arlene Miller of Fountainville, PA. Memorial Contributions may be offered to Suncoast Hospice. Memorial Services will be held at 10 am on Monday, Oct 3, 2011 at the Church of the Isles, 200 24th Avenue, Indian Rocks Beach, FL.
