Timothy Goff Cain, 74, of Belleair Shore, FL peacefully passed away early on September 22, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. His sudden passing followed a massive stroke on the morning of September 17, 2021.
Tim was born on July 25, 1947 to Leighton G and Betty Johnson Cain in Parkersburg, WV. After Tim graduated from Belpre High School in 1965, he attended Ohio University. After attending Ohio University he briefly worked for the railroad before starting his career in the car business which was his lifelong passion. Tim was passionate about all things related to cars, especially Chevy’s. Starting his career in sales at a dealership in Parkersburg, WV he later owned and operated his own retail locations and wholesaled cars in Colorado.
Tim married his high school sweetheart, Doris Kocher in 1968 but later divorced. Tim and Doris had one beautiful child together, Shele Leigh.
Tim met his spouse, Susan Spade at McClinton Chevrolet when he sold her a car. Tim and Susan were married in 1976 in Parkersburg, WV. He and Susan lived in Belpre, OH; Charleston, WV; Grand Junction, CO; and Denver, CO before retiring to Belleair Shore, FL.
Tim retired in 2008 after more than 40 years in the car business. While retired, Tim still enjoyed cars. He collected scale model cars, occasionally drove his 1967 Corvette, read Automotive News front to back and loved talking to friends and family about NHRA and older cars. Tim also enjoyed following the real estate market in the area.
Tim was predeceased by his father, mother and step mother, Marjorie Cain. He is survived by his wife Susan, daughter Shele Mann (Chris), grandson Brady Mann, granddaughter Riley Mann, brothers Scott Cain, Roger Cain, Jeff Smith, Mike Smith, and a sister Kathy Smith. Tim had numerous members of his extended family and friends who will miss him greatly.
Services will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on October 1, 2021 with viewing at 4:00 pm and service at 6:00pm. The family requests that the dress code is casual, please bring your shorts and sandals. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Humane Society of Pinellas.
