GALLAGHER, William, 71, of Largo, FL, died May 24, 2013. Bill was born in Manhattan, New York on October 15, 1941. He served in the U.S. Navy as an Interior Communication Petty Officer 3rd class and fought in the Bay of Pigs. Bill worked as an electrical engineer at the New York City Transit Authority retiring in 1986. Bill was pre-deceased by his wife Beatrice, his son Billy and his sister Joan. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Marcelline Gallagher. He also leaves behind his son, Jimmy and Liz McGoldrick of New York; daughters, Kelly Pfeffer of Boston, Sheila and Kevin Smith of Virginia, Laura and Ed Heyburn of New Jersey, Kerri and Mike Dolhancryk of Florida. Bill will be missed by his 10 grandchildren, Jack, Riley, Ryan, Megan, Shannon, Sarah, Max, Declan, Eddie and Eva Grace. He also leaves behind his sister, Kathleen and brother, John and his sister in law, Helen; his nieces and nephews and the Campbell and Gans families.
Bill was a longstanding member of the American Legion. He enjoying spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, going to the beach, fishing, reading, gardening, and tinkering around in his garage. His Irish eyes were always smiling and they continue to shine in his grandchildren.
