William M. Shephard Sr.

SHEPHARD, William M. 74, of Belleair, passed away on Dec.10, 2013. He is predeceased by loving wife of 35 years, Constance Shephard. He is survived by his five children Margaret, Kimberly, Bradley, Geraldine and William Jr. and six grandchildren whom he loved so much. William was born and raised in Lewiston, ME, and graduated from Northeastern University in Boston. He went into partnership with his parents and purchased his first motel in Brunswick, ME in 1969. In 1977, William moved his family to Clearwater, FL where he and his mother, Yvonne purchased the Lagoon Motel on Clearwater Beach, now known as Shephard’s Beach Resort. William’s vision, leadership and strong business sense has made this family owned and operated business a landmark in the Tampa Bay area. In his free time, William enjoyed fishing, boating, traveling, attending FSU and Bucs football games and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held Dec.16th at 1:30pm at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Clearwater. There will be no prior visitation hours.
