Amy Marie Eissler, 47, passed away with family by her side at St. Rose Dominican Siena Campus, on Friday, March 2, 2018 of cardiac arrest. She was born Sunday, February 28, 1971 in Bay City, Michigan to Barbara and Thomas Niedzwiecki. She is survived by both of her parents, her Grandmother Marie Niedzielski, 95, as well as her oldest son Kieran Eissler, 23, and her youngest son Quinton Eissler, 21.
In March 2016, Amy was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. For the last 2 years, she battled day in and day out. Her son Quinton put his life on hold to become her full-time caretaker. As time went on her muscles got weaker, her voice sounded fainter, but her never quit attitude grew stronger. In a time where it would have been easy to complain and feel sorry for herself, Amy constantly had a smile on her face. No matter what, she filled her life with joy, her boys, and wine.
She was a graduate of UNLV where she studied hotel management. She evolved her career into various hospitality roles. For the last 13 years, Amy worked for Hilton Hotels and Resorts as a Human Resources Director. Outside of the workforce, she was a loving mother and “lacrosse mom.” If Kieran or Quinton had a lacrosse game, there was no doubt that she would be there to cheer them on. Amy was very close with her ex-husband Christopher Eissler, 51, their father and high school lacrosse coach. Both of her children were recruited to play Division 1 lacrosse.
An open viewing will be held Wednesday, March 7th, 2018 at Palm Eastern Mortuary from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. There will be an open mass on Thursday, March 8th, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi at 9:30am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the ALS Association Nevada Chapter, 3191 E. Warm Springs Rd. Las Vegas, Nevada 89120, or online at webnv.alsa.org.
