Barbara retired as a Proofreader/Typesetter for the Staten Island Advance. She moved to Las Vegas with her husband in 1990, where they finally settled down at McDonald Ranch in Henderson. Barbara was very active in many clubs, and you couldn’t keep her from going out to play Bingo.
Barbara was a beautiful, outstanding mom and a wonderful friend to all. She will be deeply missed by all.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Daniel Carlsen, and a son James Jakeway.
Barbara is survived by her sister Dorothy O’Brien and brother Larry O’Brien; children Albert Jay Jakeway, Thomas Jakeway and Donna Lee Carlsen-Bejarano; grandchildren Thomas Jr., Elizabeth and Lindsay Jakeway and Richard (Rocky) Sicks.
