Benjamin Herschel Venger, MD, FAANS, 64, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. He was born on December 27, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan, and had resided in Nevada for 50 years. Benjamin graduated from Pomona College with a degree in zoology, and then obtained his medical degree from the University of Texas School of Medicine. He completed his residency in neurological surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and returned to Las Vegas. He was a founding member of Western Regional Center for Brain and Spine Surgery; Nevada Neuroscience Institute; Surgery Center of Southern Nevada; Medical District Ambulatory Surgery Center; NNI Research Foundation; and the TriState Pain Institute. Benjamin is survived by his beloved wife JoAnn; two daughters, Trista Stevenson (John) and Amanda Plehn (Scott); son, Nathan Venger; five grandchildren, Ezra, Denton, Annie, Efren, and Isaac; two sisters, Carolyn Cruvant (Ethan) and Roberta Zelkha (Moshe); brother, Richard Venger; nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Funeral and burial services will be held Friday, May 13, 2022 at King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas, Nevada 89120.
