Carlynn Wadkins

Carlynn Wadkins, a Las Vegas resident since 1967, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Desert Springs Hospital. Born in 1939 in Goshen, Utah, Carlynn later moved to Grants, New Mexico where she met her future husband. Carlynn worked as a laundry tech and clerk for Al Phillips for many years and retired in 2004. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Wadkins Sr. in 1986. She loved crocheting, making holiday crafts, and caring for stray animals as well as her Sunday morning breakfasts with family at Arizona Charlie's. She is survived by her daughters Pearlene Wadkins, Willene Wadkins, and Colene Wadkins, and son James Wadkins as well as her nephews Joe and Steve Wadkins and nieces Kim Adkins and Kathy Brown. She is also survived by her sisters Pearl Peterson, Verla Beck, and Sharrey Doepner and her brother Reed Schwab.Memorial gifts may be made to Heaven Can Wait animal rescue or any other animal rescue organization. A visitation will be held from 10:30 -11:00 AM, Saturday, May 7, 2016, with a service following at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane. Burial will follow at Palm Valley View Cemetery. King David Chapel on the grounds of Palm Mortuary handled the arrangements.
