Obituario de Charles Stephen Devalliere Sr.
EN EL CUIDADO DE

Palm Eastern Mortuary & Cemetery

Charles Stephen DeValliere, Sr., 91, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away in his sleep on December

19, 2021.

Charles was born and raised in Clarksburg, WV and was a lifelong supporter of West Virginia

University Mountaineer sports. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and became one

of the “Chosin Few” as a survivor of the battle at the Chosin Reservoir during the Korean War.

Upon his return to West Virginia, he met and married the love of his life, Norma Evelyn

(Campbell) DeValliere. They celebrated 68 years of marriage in June, 2021. The day before

his passing, his caregiver asked him what he wanted for Christmas and he only asked for 68

more years with Norma.

Charles was a successful insurance agent for many years, but he is best known for his poker,

golf, and pool playing abilities. He was a part owner of the Jack and Jill Cue Club outside of

Washington, DC and was ranked in the top ten in 9-ball in the 1960s and 1970s. He and Norma

settled in Las Vegas in 1977 where Charles supported his family playing poker.

Charles is survived by his lovely wife Norma, and their three sons, Steve (and Cathy)

DeValliere, Las Vegas, NV, Norm (and Alicia) DeValliere, Portland, OR, and Mitch (and Tish)

DeValliere, Reno, NV. Charles has three grandsons, Charlie DeValliere, Logan DeValliere, and

Ian DeValliere. He is also survived by two brothers, Lee DeValliere, Portland, ME and Maurice

DeValliere, Bellows Falls, VT. Charles was preceded in death by their daughter, Cynthia

Lorene DeValliere.

Charles decided against holding any services or funeral arrangements and the family is

respecting his wishes.

In lieu of flowers, please consider playing Texas Hold’em, Nine Ball, or golf in his honor. A

donation to the Semper Fi and Americas Fund would also be greatly appreciated.
