

Charles Lee Greenfield Charles Lee “Charlie” Greenfield, 83 of Las Vegas passed away Monday, January 9, 2017. He was born April 20, 1933, to Lloyd and Lela Greenfield, in a farmhouse in Birmingham, Iowa. He was a 46-year resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, retiring out of Nellis Air Force Base in 1977. He was a life time Seventh Day Adventist and a current member of the Paradise Seventh Day Adventist Church. Charlie served 25 years in the Air Force, first as a jet mechanic then as a maintenance scheduler. He was stationed in many different places across our Country, with one tour in England and two tours in Thailand during the Vietnam War. In 1977 he began a 9-year career with Northrup that took him to Saudi Arabia. Charlie worked hard, to make a better life for his family. From early on in Portland, Oregon where he was owner/operator of his own gas station as a second job from the Air Force, to owning his own transmission shop in Las Vegas, his own lawn service company, and working for a time with his oldest son Shane at Greenfield Roofing. He always offered to help anyone in need of any auto mechanical work and had an uncanny mechanical mind. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Donnel, his sister Rosetta, his oldest daughter Julie, a granddaughter Brandy, and a grandson, Todd. Charlie is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Marlys, sons Shane (Marla) and John, daughter Christie (Dana), grandchildren Charles Adam, Jesse, Justin, Heidi, Sam, Andrea, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a simple graveside service on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Palm Mortuary East, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, Nevada. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
