

Charles Earl Williams passed away on October 14, 2015 in Las Vegas, NV. Charles, also known as “Chuck” and “Chucky Baby” was born to Edna and Charles Williams on the 5th day of March 1947 in Panama City, Florida. The eldest of 12 children, Charles attended Glenwood Elementary School with his siblings and cousins. Those years were some of his happiest memories. Being a military family, Charles and his family lived in Chicago, Illinois, Panama City, Florida, and Fort Worth, Texas before moving to and settling in Las Vegas, Nevada where he attended and graduated from Rancho High School. Charles served his country in the Vietnam War from 1967-1969.
After completing his service with the United States Army, he attended Las Vegas Community College and UNLV where he studied and completed with a degree in Operating Engineer and earning license and certification to work with advanced level gas engineering. Charles had many jobs from bartender to being one of Southwest Gas’ first black field engineers while attending college.
Charles worked for the Flamingo Hotel for 29 years before his health changed the path of his life. Throughout his life, Charles was friended and loved by many who will cherish his memory. He was a lover of fishing, conversation, cooking, and “pretty” nurses.
Charles is preceded in death by his mother and father; his brothers, Robert and Ronald. He is survived by his loving wife, Yvonne Lee; his step-children, Kimberly Watkins and Eddie Lee; his sisters, Patricia Thomas, Cynthia Williams, Rita (Earnie) Shavers, Joyce Williams, Shelia (Roger) Gardner; his brothers, Michael, Alan, Russell (Skye), and Jerrol (Samatra); his 8 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and many great friends.
