July 27, 1949 - May 3, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Cipriana Maria Arenas (Jimenez), age 75, who peacefully passed away on May 3, 2025, at her home in Henderson, Nevada. Born on July 27, 1949, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Cipriana’s life was defined by her resilience, dedication, and unwavering commitment to her family.
Cipriana enjoyed a long and distinguished career, serving as a supervisor and lead at several prominent electronic companies, including IBM and Raytheon. Her work ethic and leadership left a lasting impact on her colleagues, and her contributions helped pave the way for future generations.
A devout Roman Catholic, Cipriana found strength and guidance through her faith, attending every one of her grandchildren’s events, religious or not. She was well known among those who knew her as a strong, steady and loving presence—a firm foundation for family and friends alike.
Cipriana had a deep passion for sports, especially softball. She coached her daughter’s team, imparting her knowledge and enthusiasm to the next generation. At home, Cipriana was a masterful cook whose meals brought comfort and joy to all who were fortunate enough to enjoy them. In quieter moments, Cipriana enjoyed crocheting, playing cards with loved ones, dancing and singing. Whether coaching softball or preparing a home-cooked meal, Cipriana brought passion and care to everything she did.
Cipriana’s legacy endures through her siblings: Virginia Jimenez Covarrubias and Clara Velador, her children: Joe Montelongo (Elaine), Lydia Brown (Mike), Rose Wetzel (Mike), and Jaime Jimenez (Debbie). She was also a proud grandparent (Tata) to Karen, Jasmine, Alyce, Iris, Angel, Shane, Miranda, Justin, Justeen, Olivia, and Sarrah; and a great-grandparent to ten beloved great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Cipriana was predeceased by her parents Mauricio Jimenez and Luisa Maria Everett; siblings Josefa Galvan, Mauricio Jimenez, Julio Perez, and Rene Perez; nieces Angelica Covarrubias George and Domitila Galvan; and cousins Lorraine Rodriguez and Rafael A. Rodriguez.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed.
