Clara Louise Wallick

Our first cousin Clara Louis (Mast) Wallick passed away peacefully on Feb 5, 2025. She's been a proud resident of Las Vegas, Nevada over half a century and treasured her life experiences in the hotel/restaurant hospitality business there. We've heard many stories about those years. Clara was blessed with memory and recall. the best ever. Clara is the daughter of Sarah (Bontrager) and Edward l Mast. She was born November 28, 1934 near Lagrange, Indiana. Her younger brother Art (Edward Arthur preceded Clara in death in 1955 and her sister Betty Ann (Mast) Benedict lives in Norwalk, California. Clara had been ill with pneumonia and other respiratory issues and in the Las Vegas Valley Hospital much of the past month. For the past three decades...

Clara has had a pet cockatiel. The present one, Trinity, has been her personal friend and is nearly 30 years of age. He survives her. Trinity has been adopted by another family now and he will miss Clara immensely. Clara, living in the Western USA and all us many cousins in the Midwest... didn't know each other growing up. We met again... at her dad's funeral in California and after a few years she began traveling back and forth to Indiana in the summers to be with her Uncle Andy (Mast), his family, and her cousins. This annual trip became a high point of her years. Clara relished making contact and re-uniting with family and friends. She was a lot like her dad and stepmom who would travel in their van from California to the Midwest every other year for the Mast reunion. They didn't miss. We will miss Clara though... for a long long time. Rest in peace Clara.
