Clawson "Cal" Calvert Bowman Jr. JD

Clawson “Cal” Calvert Bowman, Jr., JD, age 69, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013 near Las Vegas, Nevada. Cal was born in Southern California to Clawson and Eula Mae Bowman on March 13, 1944.  He was raised by devout Latter-day Saint parents and was a very dedicated servant of the Lord.  Cal served as a counselor in the Brandon, Florida Stake Presidency, Bishoprics in New Jersey and California.  Most recently he served as the Young Men’s President for his ward and as a temple worker in the Las Vegas, Nevada Temple.  Cal had also served an extended 3 year mission for the church in France. Cal earned a BA degree from Brigham Young University, a JD from Western State University, College of Law and he also completed extensive post graduate studies in Epidemiology at the University of South Florida in Tampa. During his professional career, Cal was a Regulatory Affairs and Quality executive for Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Bio-Technology companies worldwide.  Cal was also a past Board of Director for Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS).  Cal was an officer in the Marines and was dedicated to preserving the freedoms that we all enjoy.  His devotion to his country and his Heavenly Father were paramount in his life of service.  Cal also enjoyed a rich relationship with the Boy Scouts of America and served in many capacities.  He earned the Eagle Scout rank and as an adult diligently mentored other youth to the same rank and taught and lived the Scout Law.  Cal was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend.  He will be deeply missed by all. Cal is survived by his wife Adrienne (Wayne) Bowman, his brother Don (Judy), his sister Joyce Peterson (Miguel), his children Chris, Chad (Susan), Cheri Roberts (Travis), Clint (Kim), and 10 grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Nolana Mae (Worsley) Bowman. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Hacienda Ward Chapel, 2275 E. Tropicana Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89119.  A viewing will be held immediately preceding the funeral service from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.  Interment at Palm Mortuary on Eastern will be at 3:00 PM.
