Curtis Ross Vandever left us for a peaceful place in heaven. He passed away September 17th after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. His kindness and positivity never wavered, as he fought with a smile every day. He was a native of Las Vegas and graduated from Valley High School in 1984. For over 30 years, Curtis worked for Mr. Wynn’s collection of hotels and was always passionate about creating long lasting experiences for his guests. Curtis was an example of what a Man, Father, Friend and Human Being truly is. He loved spending time with his wife, kids, family and friends. Curtis enjoyed fishing, working on projects, and playing cornhole at the family cabin. He loved going to the beach and watching a California sunset while enjoying a schooner of Coors Light. He was an excellent golfer, an avid Oklahoma Sooners fan, and loved quoting his favorite commercials and movies. Curty’s infectious smile will be missed dearly. Curtis is survived by his wife of 35 years Jody (Gott) Vandever and his two children, Justin Vandever and Ashlie (Vandever) Dionisio. He was the baby brother to Barry Vandever, Lori (Vandever) Sanders, and Kathy (Gott) Garban and a beloved Uncle to 13 nieces & nephews.
The family encourages donations to be made to The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
