To my Dear Cousin Don  ~ with Gratitude and Appreciation for all the special lifelong memories we have shared. You are deeply missed and will always hold a special place in my heart!

Dear Unger Family,   
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.  Don was truly a special
person.  Our three decades of friendship with him, his dear wife Helene ( referred in our household as " Saint Helene"),  and  family,  have been a blessing.       
I met him when he and Helene moved to Las Vegas to expand his company.  I clearly remember the "youthful exuberance" they both showed when discussing with me their plans to bring Howard and Bart to Las Vegas  to help grow  the business.  I knew instantly that this man would build  a successful  life around his family.  
The strong bonds of love you all share with each other ( even through all life's many tests ) is a testament  to what Don and Helene had envisioned as the ultimate success story.  Love to all,

Your Dad lived large, ahead of his times and  he also  was a reflection of the times.  With a song in his heart and a steady rhythm in his feet he could tell you who wrote which songs or starred in the latest movies (as well as  the facts of history or sports.) Our hearts and prayers go out to Don's family.  Our friendship with Don goes back to his single days.  We would meet for lunch whenever we were in Vagas and talk about the "good old days", and brag about our families. May you rest in peace old friend and may your memory be a blessing.

I feel so blessed to have had my Uncle Don in  my life.  I have only great memories of him throughout my childhood.   No matter what we all got into as kids - he (usually - not always) just laughed.   He and Aunt Eenie are the reason we were so fortunate to relocate to California and grow up here.  I loved when we all lived so close - with Grandma & Grandpa nearby - we were all in walking distance.  What an incredible childhood.  Thank you Uncle Don for all the great times, the memories and the love.  I will truly miss you.

Believe it or not, back in the day when Brent and I were hanging around the house on Mallard, out of all our friends, Bart's dad was the "cool dad."  Don was always joking around, often telling off color jokes.  It was from Don that I learned who "Lucky Pierre" was.  And more so than with the parents of any of my other friends, I had the idea that Don and Helene still had it going on.  They had a great, flirty repartee.  Don was a classic family "Patricarch," and I know he leaves a big hole in his whole family's world.

Our deepest sympathy to all the Unger family for the loss of your Father and Grandfather. Love to all.
