Donna Shayne Broady Mitchell, 70, born February 4, 1951 in Paducah, Ky to Marion & Norma Broady (who preceded her in death). Donna attended Dixon Elementary & graduated from John M. Harlan High School in 1967. Donna attended Univ. Of Wisc. @Eau Claire for 2 years, met her 1st husband, returned to Chicago & had one daughter. Donna became employed by Illinois Bell & was the first female Installation Technician back when they climbed telephone poles. Donna began bowling in Chicago & became very good, it showed by the many trophies she won.
In 1982 Donna moved to Toledo, Oh, obtained a job with (PIC) Private Industry Council, where she trained/prepared people on how to get & maintain employment. Toledo became her 2nd home. She fell in love with the city & the people. Donna continued bowling, joined a couple of leagues & joined the Glass City Travelers Bowling team. Donna loved to travel; she & one of her best friends formed a group called the Quality Travelers, named after their favorite local lounge. They traveled all over but regardless of where they traveled during the year, two places they visited EVERY YEAR was Chicago to see the OJays & the Whispers & Las Vegas. She always said Las Vegas would be her final home.
In 2003 she did just that, made Vegas her final home. Donna worked at a couple casinos & then she began to work for CHR, INC giving people the tools needed to get back into the workforce. Donna joined an organization called the Chicago Connection with fellow Chicagoans who relocated to Las Vegas, where she met some great friends & loved them dearly. She was also on the Las Vegas Senate TNBA Bowling Team. Before she officially retired Donna worked for Caesars Entertainment…she absolutely loved her job! She always said she was the oldest one there & she felt like she truly had an extended family. Donna had a heart of gold, loved her family, loved her friends, loved to party, always shot straight from the hip, & always jazzy when it came to her clothes & style.
