

Dorothy Pauline Tripp, 89, passed away on September 10, 2024. She was born on February 7, 1935, in Los Angeles, California, and spent her early years in Oakland before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 13.
Family was at the heart of Dorothy’s life. She is survived by her son, Jack (Eleanor) Ewing; her daughter, Jeannie (Brian) Verchick; her loving sister, Elizabeth Purdy; and Terri (Nick) Montana and Mike (Karen) Blackwell, whom she cherished as her own. She found immense joy in her grandchildren, Jack (Rachel) Ewing, Michelle (Dave) Yoon, Rachell (Danny) Jacobson, Alisha (Jason) Teglia, and Brian Verchick, along with her seven great-grandchildren, who brought her so much happiness in her later years.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, John Ewing, who passed away when she was only 24. Her loving husband of 37 years, Jay Tripp, passed away in 2006. She also mourned the loss of her sisters, Edith and Jean, and her beloved granddaughter, Teresa.
Dorothy was the proud owner of Row of Pearls, where she created custom knits that brought joy to many. She took great pride in her talent and cherished the connections she made through her craft.
Dorothy was known for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family. She was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord. Her ability to make everyone feel special and loved will be remembered by all who knew her. Dorothy could often be found watching her favorite Crime TV shows or enjoying classic black-and-white movies, and she found joy in Country music's timeless melodies.
A memorial service will be held at Palm Mortuary, 7979 W. Warm Springs Rd., on October 15, 2024. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by the service at 1:00 PM. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City on October 16 at 10:40 AM.
Dorothy will be dearly missed by her family and friends, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
