

Dottie Heenan passed away peacefully, January 29, 2015, surrounded by her family, at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas. Dottie was a loving mother and wife. She was born on August 27, 1942, in Chicago, Ill., to Archie and Ruth Brehm. She married James Heenan, a serviceman in the Air Force, in 1962 and moved throughout the world. In 1979 they moved to Las Vegas. Dottie was a stay at home mom for the first part of her life, raising her four children. When her children were grown, she went to work for Nevada Federal Credit Union where she worked for the next thirty years. She retired after reaching the position of Vice President. She had an open and loving manner and was always happy and was seen with a smile on her face. She always found the positive side of everything. Dottie was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; and her siblings, Pat and Roseanne. She is survived by her sister Gini; her children Dan (Molly), Sean (Anna), Katie and Jennie (Bob). She loved and was proud of her nine grandchildren, Vince, Talia, Kelly, Erin, Joe, Shannon, Brenden, Brenna and Matthew. Visitation will be at Palm Mortuary, 7600 South Eastern Ave, on February 8, from 3:00-7:00pm. Funeral services will be at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 2300 Sunridge Heights Parkway, Henderson at 10:00am on Monday, February 9. Internment will immediately follow at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Boulder City. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Nathan Adelson Hospice, www.nah.org.
