It is with great sorrow and heartfelt remembrance that we share the news of the passing of Editha Branzuela Pagaduan, affectionately known as “Manding Edith,” on May 5, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was 78 years old.
Born in Catmon, Cebu, Philippines, on October 28, 1946, Edith’s life was a testament to devotion, compassion, and an unwavering grace that inspired all who crossed her path. A proud graduate of the esteemed Velez College of Nursing in 1966, she emerged as a skilled registered nurse and a respected charge nurse, always immaculately dressed in her bespoke white uniform. To those around her, Edith embodied the very essence of nursing—serving with deep empathy, profound wisdom, and quiet excellence. In 2011, she concluded her remarkable nursing career of over 45 years at UMC.
As a devoted wife, mother, godmother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she enveloped her loved ones with fierce, unwavering love and support. With quiet strength and gentle composure, she raised eight children, instilling in them values of fortitude, humility, resilience, and generosity—lessons that will endure through generations.
Her love for food and passion for cooking was always from the heart and eagerly anticipated by all. With Edith, everyone felt nourished and nurtured.
Edith lived a life full of love, service, and grace. She lived by the quiet wisdom of one of her favorite songs: “Que Sera, Sera—whatever will be, will be.” Her legacy of kindness, strength, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed.
Edith is survived by her beloved children: Joy, Jun, Junie, Rey, Cristina, Stella, Mark, and Cleng; her cherished grandchildren: Justin, Summer, Andrew, Miko, Joshua, Caleb, Preston, and Vivian; and her dear sisters: Rhoda, Gilda, Laura, Mely, Leah, and Aurora.
She joins in eternal rest her beloved husband, Alfonso Pagaduan, and her parents, Eugenia Orlanes Branzuela and Domingo Colinares Branzuela, forever embracing her in peace.
