Elamma was born August 29, 1942 in Punnathura, Kottayam District to Uthuppan and Chachi Kadavil. She is the youngest sister to John, Mary, Kuriakose, Joseph, and Thressiamma. She married Jose Chettiath on August 16, 1965. She was a well-respected physical education teacher in Koodalloor until she moved with her family to Los Angeles in 1986, then to Las Vegas in 1989.
Elamma loved to do everything she could for those around her, and instilled a strong sense of faith, family, and stubbornness in her children and grandchildren. She loved to call and talk with her dear friends and family across the globe, cook every visitor's favorite meals, and tend to her desert garden. Her house was constantly kept spotless despite the ten grandchildren she raised there, and her sense of style was known throughout the Malayalee community.
Elamma is survived by her husband, Jose Chettiath; her four daughters, Shyni, Shimi, Shilly, and Josey; her four sons-in-law; and her eleven grandchildren, all of whom brought her great joy throughout her life.
Funeral and burial service will be held at Palm Eastern Mortuary.
