She was born December 13, 1954, in Hughes, AK to Clyde Harold & Eula Mae Henard. Florda was a twin (to Flora Fleming) and they were the second of 10 children. She went by the nickname Anie from a very young age. She married her teenage love, Frankie Lee Porterfield, Sr. in Memphis, TN at the age of 18. Their union blessed them with 4 sons: Frankie Lee, Jr. (preceded in death), Samuel, Mark Anthony and Marlon Dwayne Porterfield.
She attended Canada College where she graduated with her AA in Accounting in the mid 1980s and worked for various companies in the Bay Area as an accountant. In the 1990s, she joined Lytton Industries who was later acquired by L3 Communications. She remained at L3 Communications until she retired. There she forged lasting relationships with her co-workers who became life-long friends. Her background in accounting made it possible for her to provide tax services during tax season for decades which she enjoyed and became an invaluable resource.
Anie loved family get-togethers (with the notorious family games), spending time with her grandchildren, good food and socializing, trips to the casinos, playing bingo, attending bible studies with Southgate SDA with her twin sister Flora (aka: Nicky) and Community Church in East Palo Alto and traveling (Sacramento, Memphis, Arkansas, and Las Vegas). Anie was soft-spoken, yet her love was displayed loudly by her loving kindness, willingness to go the extra mile to help others in need and dedicated to being the best to all she crossed paths with (especially as a mother/sister/aunt/cousin/grandmother/friend).
She is survived by her former husband, Frankie Lee Porterfield, Sr.; her sons whom were her heart in human form: Samuel, Mark and Marlon (m. Kathy); grandchildren: Markesa, Courtney, Paige, Paul, Stedman and Morgan (Frankie Lee Jr’s children); Samuel Jr., Shamira, Dejahn, Jaylah and London (Samuel’s children); Makayla and Wynter (Marlon’s children); and her siblings: Brenda K. Jones (sister), Flora Fleming (twin sister), R.D. Henard (brother), Michael Henard (brother), Keith Henard (brother); and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who brought her great joy.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents: Clyde Harold & Eula Mae Henard; brothers: Clyde Jr. Henard, Robert Henard, Kevin Henard, and Brian Henard; and son: Frankie Lee Porterfield, Jr.
Anie’s Celebration of Life Memorial will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 11am, Community Church of East Palo Alto 2201 University Ave, East Palo Alto, CA 94303. Flowers can be sent to this address the day of the service.
