With great sadness, we announce the death of our beloved father, Frank J. Braglia, who passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and pets Sunday morning, September 29, 2019. Husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend, he was greatly loved and admired by all who knew him.
Frank was born in Brooklyn, NY, as the youngest of 9 children. After serving honorably in WW II, he started a career helping other returning veterans find the American dream of home ownership in the busy post-war real estate boom on Long Island, NY. He later owned and operated the famous "Frank Braglia's Las Vegas Supper Club", in Syosset.
Frank moved to Florida, where he would make his biggest impact yet: Helping real estate developers find buyers in the exciting Florida real estate market. Word of his success spread far and wide. Developers around the world began seeking Frank’s guidance in finding qualified buyers for their businesses. Soon, his growing family relocated to Las Vegas, where in the 1970’s and 1980’s, he worked with major developers up and down the famous Las Vegas strip and beyond, eventually expanding nationally and internationally, with operations in the United Kingdom, Germany and Portugal.
In the early 2000’s, Frank returned to Las Vegas, to stay closer to family, but did not retire. He continued working with major developers, consulting and sharing his vast knowledge of real estate marketing right up until his passing.
Through it all and by his side for over 50 years was his beloved wife, Cookie.
In his later years, Frank enjoyed spending time and traveling with family and his very special friend, Sharon.
Frank’s hobby and passion was his love for cooking. His pasta dishes were famous. If one wanted to guarantee a high turnout at any party, they only had to say, “Frank is cooking his pasta.”
Frank loved his dogs, whom he considered four-legged family members. From his Shelties (famously married in a doggie matrimony ceremony, so the soon-to-be-born puppies would have a respectful birth), to his Yorkies who were beside him until his last day, Frank’s cheerful greeting upon arriving home was always, “Where are my kids?”
Throughout his long life, Frank inspired admiration and respect from every person he met. His positive influence and business knowledge well suited him as teacher and caring mentor, earning him the affectionate nickname, “Mr. B.” Many feel they would not be where they are today without his guidance and direction. All who knew him will gratefully carry his lessons and stories for the rest of our days and beyond.
Frank was preceded in death by his father, Gaspare Braglia and his mother, Elisabetta Minagro Braglia, by his sisters and brothers, Mae, Anna, Mario (Marty), John, Peter, Sadie and Angie, and by his beloved wife, Kate “Cookie” Braglia and son, Danny Braglia.
Frank is survived by his sister, Mildred (Millie) Dallas, TX, daughters Elizabeth Brickman (Guy) Ft. Lauderdale, FL., Lisa Young, Henderson, NV., Bettina DiSalvo (David), Las Vegas, NV., and sons, Robert Braglia, NY, NY., Richard Braglia (Tracey), Sarasota, FL. and Peter Braglia (Francine) Las Vegas, NV. He leaves grandchildren, Jeffery Young, Jack Braglia, Cara Braglia, Jennifer Young, Danielle Macdonald, Debbie Braglia, Nicole Young, Frankie Braglia, Sarah DiSalvo, Katelyn Braglia, Abbey Braglia and Christopher Braglia, and great grand-children, Jeffrey Isaac Young, Ricky Macdonald, Kaylee Young and Dominic Macdonald.
Viewing will be held at Palm Mortuary on Eastern at 1pm, Sunday, October 13, 2019. Services start at 2pm. Interment will immediately follow the service.
