George B. Callahan, 92, of Henderson, passed away Monday, March 11. He was born July 31, 1921 in Somerville, Mass. and lived in Henderson since 2008. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Trudy; daughter Kathleen and son-in-law Richard Hebert; and sister Irene Dwyer. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1940 - 1970 including service in WWII, Korea and Vietnam; culminating with service in the 10th Special Forces. A funeral mass followed by the rendering of military honors is at 10 a.m. March 17, St. Francis of Assisi, Henderson. The inurnment will be March 19, 2 p.m., at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Boulder City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation or Heaven Can Wait Animal Society.
