Most knew our Dad as Greg or Boy, even Grandpa! Collectively, Dad could best be described in three words: Quiet, Thoughtful and Happy. He was a quiet man, with a quiet smile, quiet laughter, quiet strength and displayed his love individually and uniquely in a very quiet and personal way!
It was easy to think of Dad as stoic because he wasn’t one to give a hug, nor did the words “I love you” exist in his vocabulary. But his actions always spoke much louder than words. If you were ever in need, quietly he would save his money to help you out. If you were new to the family, he would always be attentive and made sure you were welcomed. He was a sweet, thoughtful and giving man. At times Dad had the proverbial “…two nickels to rub together”, yet without hesitation, he’d give you the shirt off of his back. We all knew him as a brother, a father, a husband, uncle and grandfather, someone that put others first, not expecting anything in return. This is how Dad said “I love you” to all of us.
Loved by many, Dad will be dearly missed by all. The outpouring of condolences and the presence today of so many of you is evident, that you too, loved him in return. He would be overjoyed to know of your gratitude.
On behalf of the Tolentino family, we thank you for having traveled so far and taking the time to help us celebrate his life and bid him goodbye on his final journey.
