Gregory Wayne Bell was born March 30, 1966, in Los Angeles, CA to John, Jr. and Dorothy (Robinson) Bell. Greg Bell, of Las Vegas, died Saturday, August 10 at Lake Mead, in Boulder City at the age of 58. Greg attended Narbonne High School in Harbor City, CA. where he made life-long friends with whom he met and traveled with on a regular basis. He married his soul mate Serena Wanigasekera on May 5, 1990 four years after they met. Together they raised two daughters, Danae Kristine and Marisa Nicole and two granddaughters, Peytan Serenity and Harper Rylee. They were all his pride and joy. Greg had the gift of self-motivation and hard work. That, coupled with an entrepreneurial spirit, led him to professional roles. It was not enough to just “do” the job, he had to “learn” the methods, and make them better. Starting with his father at a small defense contractor in Compton, CA, that made blades for military helicopters, he began honing his skills eventually becoming a blade inspector for Robinson Helicopter Company in Torrance, CA where he worked for over 10 years. After relocating to Las Vegas, that skill swiftly moved Greg up the ladder in the construction industry. He eventually branched off into opening Buyer’s Choice Home Inspections and he didn’t stop there. Knowing that there is strength in numbers, and even more strength in love, he once again educated himself and became a licensed realtor in 2018 and joined the love of his life, Serena, to create The Bell Team LV, making dreams come true for countless Las Vegas residents, and making a ridiculous number of friends, REAL friends, not clients, along the way. This is who he was and will always be – the guy with the mega-watt smile that lights up every life he touches.
He loved the outdoors, hiking, white-water rafting, snowboarding and passionately cheering on the Golden Knights. But more than that he loved to read, mostly books that allowed him to grow as a person. He didn’t just read, he studied and implemented teachings he wanted to embody, and he did so consistently. When asked he would gladly share his knowledge. All of this paled in comparison to his favorite “hobbies” of being an amazing, loving Husband, and phenomenal Father and Grandfather. He was always the coach of his girls teams and that carried on to Peytan and Harper. He coached Peytan in Volleyball and and was adamant about both girls learning how to swim and making sure Peytan learned the discipline that comes with Martial Arts and accompanied her several times a week Jujitsu. Greg will be deeply missed by his wife, Serena, his daughters, Danae’ Kristine Bell and Marisa Nicole Bell Hearne and grandchildren Peytan Serenity and Harper Rylee Hearne along with his mother Dorothy Bell of Las Vegas, brother Kenneth Bell (Gwendolyn) of Las Vegas, NV, sisters Valerie Bell of Las Vegas, NV and Lisa Collins (Cardell) of Riverside, CA and countless nieces and nephews. Greg was preceded in death by his father, John, Jr. and sister, Vanessa Bell. A memorial service for Gregory will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Palm Mortuary - Eastern, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
