Hannah Page, born in Cork City, Ireland, was a proud and devoted daughter of generations of full-blooded Irish ancestry. Her love for her heritage was evident in every aspect of her life. Hannah sang Irish songs daily, keeping the spirit of her homeland alive wherever she went.
At the age of 18, Hannah Connolly moved to New York City, full of hope and excitement for a new chapter. However, homesickness led her back to Ireland after 18 months. But upon returning to America, she made it her home and embraced the opportunities it offered. A family-oriented person at heart, Hannah was instrumental in bringing her brother Terry and sisters Marie and Francis to New York City, all of whom grew to love the country and stayed.
Hannah met her devoted husband, Thomas, at the Dime Savings Bank of Williamsburg, where both worked. During their courtship, it was common for them to attend midnight mass together on a Saturday night after their dates, reflecting the strong faith and values they both shared. Their relationship blossomed into a love story straight out of a fairy tale, and the two shared 66 and a half wonderful years of marriage. Thomas passed away just 24 days before Hannah, in a poignant ending to their story that was reminiscent of The Notebook. Their love endured every challenge and remained steadfast until the very end.
Hannah was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who would do anything for her loved ones. Her generosity knew no bounds—she was the kind of person who would give the shirt off her back to help someone in need. A stranger to Hannah was just a friend she had not met yet. She was fully engaged in the lives of her family, always attentive and eager for detailed updates on their lives. Her unwavering support was evident in how she never missed a family event and was always the first one there.
Hannah always had “itchy feet” and a deep love for travel. Although Las Vegas became her home base, she frequently journeyed to London to care for her father, returned to Ireland to visit relatives, and made trips to New York to reconnect with family. Many of her trips lasted for months at a time, allowing her to fully immerse herself in the lives of her loved ones and create cherished memories. Her adventurous spirit and devotion to family defined her life.
Hannah was a cherished grandmother (Fafa) to Jacqulin (Mike), Daniel (Denise), Colleen, Alexis, Lauren, Hannah (Anthony), and Erin, and a proud great-grandmother (Grand Fafa) to McKenzie and Harper. Her lifelong belief in the power of education was reflected in her family’s numerous academic achievements, which include two Juris Doctor degrees, one Ph.D. candidate, 10 master’s degrees, 12 bachelor’s degrees, and five associate degrees earned by her children, their spouses, and grandchildren.
Hannah was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Terrace Connolly and Mary Gibson of Cork City, Ireland.
She is survived by her brother Terry Connolly of Las Vegas, NV, and her sisters Marie Carlson of Florida and Francis Peluso of Long Island, NY.
Hannah’s father, Terrace, possessed a voice reminiscent of Bing Crosby, passing down a love for music that became a defining part of her legacy. Singing was truly in her blood.
Hannah cherished her connections to her family in Cork, Ireland, where she had hundreds, if not thousands, of relatives. She found great joy in returning home, celebrating her Irish roots with warmth and love.
A true embodiment of Erin go Bragh—Ireland forever—Hannah’s life was a song that will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be deeply missed.
