Harriet May Parks

An Angel on this earth to many, Mrs. Harriet M. Parks at 93 years

died in her sleep, just the way she wanted to meet our Lord on

October 18, 2024. Born May 24, 1931 on Staten Island, New York, as

the 3rd daughter to the late Howard and Mable (Petersen) Boice.

Harriet was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald F. Parks and,

her son Lawrence Parks. Ronald’s job moved the family around the

United States most of their 33 years of married life. A travel trailer

was a place they called home. During this time, a long lasting

friendship with Martin and Joan Hassett was established as fellow

coworker and traveler. Additional family members preceded her: 3

Sisters Virginia (Mullin), Elinore (Johnson) and Pearl (Sanzone) and 3

Nieces.

Survived by one sister, Carol (Dudik) and 4 Nieces, 5 Great -Nieces

and 7 Great-Nephews, plus 1 Great-Great Niece and 5 Great- Great

Nephews.

Genealogy research of family history was enjoyed by Harriet,

Elinore and Carol as a hobby. Reading Mystery or History Books,

doing Word Search Books and Cross-stitching was another pastime.

A Devoted and Loving Daughter, Sister, Mother, Aunt, Caregiver and

a Friend to many. She followed the “Golden Rule “to treat others as

you would want to be treated. For Harriet had a heart of gold to

help her family, friends and strangers at different times in her life.
