Helen was born December 10, 1937 to Arlo Taylor Robb and Harriet Robinson in Mancos Colorado. The daughter of a sheep herder, she grew up on the ranch with her older sister Renee Gushen and her younger brothers Bryant and Arlo.
Helen attended Brigham Young University where she obtained a teaching degree. She met a young man, Dwain Leroy Thatcher, who had just moved to Mancos where he had accepted his first teaching position. They were married on November 18, 1960. One year later to the day they were sealed in the St. George temple. In time, they welcomed into their family four sons and two daughters.
Not long after their marriage, they bought a home in Colorado Springs, Colorado where they raised their family and lived for over 30 years. Upon retirement Helen served three missions with Dwain in Kiribati, Indonesia, and in Ukraine. Helen and Dwain moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to be closer to family in 1996.
Helen was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved serving all ages but her favorite service was as an ordinance worker for 20 years and Patriarch’s wife.
Helen was deeply loved by her family and friends. With her cheerful countenance and quick wit, she never met a stranger and had a tremendous gift for making others feel comfortable. She had the right amount of sass to keep us on our toes and smiling.
Helen is survived by her husband Dwain and her six children: Randy (Tara), Kendall Cichoski (Mark), Taylor (Colleen), Bryan (Toni), Whitney (Jennifer) and Kozelle Delosa (Ralph) and all three of her siblings. She has 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday February 14, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the LDS chapel located at 7670 S. Bruce followed by a graveside service at the Palm Mortuary on 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
