Ida Jones Wilson, 79, a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on January 7, 2014. She was born on August 22, 1934 in Manila, Philippines to Lavern Jones and Vicenta Abior. She had two siblings Lourdes and Josephine. She married Eduardo D. Wilson and to this union they had five children. Ida was raised by Good Shepard Irish nuns at the St. Domitilas during World War II until the age of 18 where she taught piano. Through mutual friends, while attending a basketball game, she met the love of her life, Eduardo D. Wilson. They both worked at Ranchitos, she as a cashier and he as a bouncer until starting a family. In 1971, after having five children, they left the Philippines and moved to Sydney, Australia. In 1979, the family then relocated to the U.S. moving to Las Vegas, Nevada. Ida enjoyed cooking, traveling, and taking care of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She especially enjoyed playing mahjong with friends and playing the poker machines at the Gold Coast. She had a passion for watching game shows particularly Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and the Price Is Right, to the very end. Ida was not afraid to speak her mind and would feed anyone that came through her door. She sacrificed a lot for her kids, and was loved and respected by all that knew her. She will be greatly missed. Ida was preceded in death by her parents Lavern and Vicenta; husband Eduardo; and son David R. Wilson. Ida is survived by her children Edward Wilson, Robert J. Wilson, Josephine A. Schiller, and Jennifer L. Loyko; grandchildren Eddie Jr. and Brenda Wilson, Eliza, David, and Jamie Wilson, Samantha and Dannielle Schiller, Alecia Wilson, and Matthew, Brenden, and Andrew Loyko; great-grandchildren Taylor, Alex, and Braiden; sisters Josephine O’Connor and Lourdes Mendoza; and nieces and nephews Michael, Brian, Kevin, Ike, Maureen, and Tessie.
