

Jerry Burkin, 55, long-time resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on January 31, 2013 at Spring Valley Hospital. He was born on October 26, 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri to Robert and Agnes Burkin. Jerry and his parents moved to California, with sister Sharyn, where they resided until their move to Las Vegas.
Jerry had graduated from Valley High School in 1975. He then went on to the University of Nevada Las Vegas where he played a year of college football. Jerry then moved to Reno, Nevada and it was there that he met his wife, Teri. They met in 1989 and were married in October of 1990. In 1991, Jerry and Teri returned to Las Vegas where they had their two sons, Robert (20) and James (almost 16). After working for Sobel Westex for a number of years, Jerry started EMT school in the early 2000’s. He had worked for just under 19 years for American Medical Response (AMR).
For anyone who knew Jerry, he LOVED the Kansas City Chiefs and has showed his loyalties to them for years. He loved fishing, camping, golfing, and being with his family and friends. Jerry had a very infectious personality, always sharing stories and good times.
Jerry’s family and friends were the most important part in his life. He was a very supportive and loyal husband, father and friend.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Teri; sons, Robert and James; and all his caring, loyal family and friends.
