Joel Amador Miñoza Romea, age 71, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. He was born on June 9, 1953 to Zenon and Mercedes Romea in the municipality of Loon, province of Bohol, the Philippines. Joel was a graduate of Loon Central Elementary School and Divine Word University (formerly Holy Name College). He received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of San Carlos and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines-Cebu.
In his younger years, Joel was a member of the Toastmasters and for years served as a lay minister of the Archdiocesan Shrine of St. Therese of the Child Jesus (formerly St. Therese Parish) in Cebu City. His professional life included stints in FNCB Finance, St. Joseph Medical Billing, FS Borja Mining, and Fannie Mae.
Joel was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin and friend.
A visitation for Joel will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 6-9pm with a prayer service at 7pm, all at Palm Southwest Mortuary, 7979 W. Warm Springs Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89113.
Funeral mass will begin on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 11:00am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 5830 Mesa Park Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89135 with Fr. William Kenny officiating.
Graveside service will follow at Davis Memorial Park, 6200 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89119.
