It is with deep sorrow to hear of John's death.  I was in the Navy with him in AOCS class of 47-72 and became best friends with him.  After getting commissioned we roomed together through basic training in the T34 and then T28's.  John was always the life of the party.  Even after 52 years I still think of him often and wish I could have met with him just to go over some great memories we shared together when we were young and just starting our careers.  My prayers are with him and his beautiful family.  God bless you.  He was a great man.

So sorry to hear of the passing of John. He was a great pilot in VP-90,
and he was also a great person to talk to and have a few laughs.

Dear family of John, 
You have my sincere sympathy!  

I sang in the New Song Church choir with John,  served in the Military Ministry he led, and had the pleasure of visiting John both at Sunrise and at the Vineyard with Steve Hethcote. In fact, the Larson home was only a block from me in Solera before I moved to Iowa in Oct ‘23.

John was a man of faith, a good friend and a patriot. And,  now he is in God’s everlasting presence in Heaven, and it will be wonderful!

I flew in the same squadrons with John for nearly 14 years. We met in 1975 just after VP4 deployed to Cubi Point Philippines. John ran the det in U Tapao Thailand on the 1978 deployment. This is where he met his lovely future bride Suphin. We later were shipmates for many years in VP90.  He will be missed at the future reunions for both squadrons. 
I will remember him for his easy humor, always friendly demeanor, and his skills as an aviator.
My condolences to his family.

I flew with John a lot of years (more than I can remember)  in  VP-90. He was a pilot par excellence; his plane handling skills were superb. He was also a fine naval officer . 

After the squadron was decommissioned John managed the VP-90 mailing list for a number of years. He also volunteered at the USO in Las Vegas. 

My condolences to his wife and family.

John and I were in the same Navy squadron for 13 years.  He was a great pilot and crew leader.  Super dependable.  We could always count on John and his crew.

And he always had a smile on his face.  Always laughing.  Even during some tumultuous times with the airline he worked for, John remained upbeat and joking.  He loved life, he was friends with everyone, and it saddens me that he was taken so soon.

May his soul rest in peace.

I always considered John one of my best friends growing up and throughout  his entire life. He was unselfish and thoughtful of others; especially those he regarded as a friend. John was always the one to reach out to his friends to check on them and  try to stay connected.

John and I flew together on Crew 3 while assigned to Patrol Squadron Four based out of Barbers Pt Hawaii.  He was both an excellent pilot and a fine Naval Officer that enjoyed a stellar reputation with all of his crewmembers and squadron mates. We were in the Navy (VP4) with John and consider it a privileged to have served with him. Our thoughts go out to his family and especially his lovely wife, Suphin. The squadron slogan was “When you care enough to send the very best.” John was the epitome of our slogan.  RIP John.
