

John N. McCandless, 87, a long-time resident of the Las Vegas area, passed away June 15, 2015. He was born May 4, 1928, in Kings Park, N.Y., to John and Johanna McCandless. John was married to his high school sweetheart, Joyce, for 65 years. They had four children, Mike (Mary), Kimberly (Mike), Scott (Melissa) and Christopher (Jenny); 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. John graduated from St. Mary's College in California and began his career with International Harvester in Sacramento, California. After a successful career with the company, he started his own dealership in Las Vegas. It is truly a family business as his sons and daughter worked there through the years. He was involved in the community and served as president for the Las Vegas Rotary Club and Nevada Auto Dealer Association. He loved to play tennis, spend time with his family and watch sporting events. He always had a story or a joke to tell. John was kind, generous and an honorable man that was well-respected by family and friends. Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 22, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S.
