John A Novotny

We lost our brother, uncle, and great uncle, John Arthur Novotny, on Friday, September 29, 2023. He fought a courageous battle with lung cancer for the last 6 months. Born in Alliance, Nebraska on December 26, 1957, he moved to Henderson, NV in 1993 to join Arrowhead Printing, our family- owned printing company. John married the love of his life, Debbie Stokes, on June 28, 1997.

John was the third of four boys born to Dake and Julie Novotny. John was a cable engineer for 20 years in Bay Area California. He was a printer for over 25 years with Arrowhead Printing and Universal Color Graphics, and a Lyft and Uber driver after leaving the printing industry.

He was a self taught accomplished drummer through high school. John was a police cadet with the Vallejo California Police Department. John was an active member with the Society of Cable Television Engineers. He was a active in the Green Chile Cookoff Association of Southern Nevada.

John was preceded in death by both parents, his wife (Debbie), and two brothers (Steve and Jim). He is survived by brother (Tom), and sister-in-law (Robin), step mother (Janice), Sister-in-law Cheryl Novotny ((Jim) mother-in-law (Pam Stokes), brother-in-law and sister-in-law (Rusty and Romona Stokes), step brother (Tom Lawrence and Linda), step sister (Desirae Jesse and husband Rick), as well as many nieces and nephews.

There was very little mechanically that he did not understand or could not repair. His sense of humor and work ethic will be missed by all.

Services will be held on November 18, 2023, at Mosaic Church, 9220 Manhattan Rd. Henderson, NV 89074 at 3:00 PM.
