John Earl Unis

He was born on May 7, 1942 in Gloucester, Massachusetts to Earl J. and Sally Simon Unis. He married Marion J. Ustach of Spring field, Massachusetts on April, 29, 1967 after transferring to Las Vegas where he was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base. He was the oldest of eight siblings: Thomas, David, Elizabeth, Edward, Earl, Joseph, and James.

John earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Boston College in 1964. He worked at various companies throughout his career, including financial comptroller at McCarren International Airport and comptroller at Avante Homes. He retired as the Chief Financial Officer at Celebrate Homes in 2006.

John enjoyed the mountains, cooking out, Fox News, and a good Macallan’s Scotch.

He is survived by his wife, Marion; his four daughters Adrienne, Joan (Matthew) Huss, Beth (David) Koch, and Theresa; and three granddaughters Alexandria, Samantha, and Elizabeth Huss. He was predeceased by his parents, Sally (Simon) and Earl Unis.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Catholic Charities of Omaha, 3300 North 60th Street, Omaha, NE 68104.

Funeral Mass Service will be held at 10:00am, September 28, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church.
