Jose T. Espinoza, 74, a 36-year resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on April 8, 2013 with his children by his side. He was born on December 15, 1938 in Queretaro, Mexico to Hermenegildo and Maria del Carmen Espinoza. His family moved to Guadalajara, Jalisco where he spent most of his early life.
Jose was a hard-working, self-educated man. He started working at a very early age to help his family so he only had the opportunity to attend up through the third grade. During the 60’s and early 70’s, he worked for Colgate Palmolive until he migrated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1976. Jose then found work at the Silver Slipper Hall and Casino as a potter, and eventually through years of schooling and determination, he was promoted to engineering. In the early 90’s, he transferred to the Golden Nugget where he retired in 2008.
Jose loved and cherished his wife of 45 years, Ernestina, until her passing in 2010, and devoted his entire life to his three children, Luis, Adriana, and Julio. Jose bravely battled cancer for three years. During this time his love for his children gave him the drive and strength to live life with a positive frame of mind.
Jose enjoyed reading and writing philosophy, doing jig-saw puzzles, and would never miss a Chivas de Guadalajara soccer game.
His positive attitude towards life, the honest advice which he gave his loved ones, and his loving hugs and kisses will always be missed.
Arrangements under the direction of Palm Eastern Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
