

She worked civil service at the Commissary on Nellis AFB for many years. Once retired she decided to test for a job in customer service for Reno Airlines. That became her second career which she thoroughly enjoyed. Reno Airlines was bought out by American Airlines and she finished her career with them, even moving to Texas for about 18 months.
During her time with the airlines she also volunteered at the USO.
Her community involvement also included serving at both our Lady of the Skies Catholic Community on Nellis AFB, and Prince of Peace Catholic community in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Josephine had many hobbies including crocheting, baking and cake decorating. In her later life she took up bowling, traveling with family and painting Ukrainian Easter eggs which she enjoyed giving away as gifts.
Josephine is predeceased by her husband John J. Lilley III, daughter Theresa Ann Thornton, daughter-in-law Judy Zeches (John J. Lilley IV), and grandson Travis Gowin.
Josephine is survived by her sister Bertha Kowalski, children John J. Lilley IV, Thomas Lilley, Margaret Lilley, and Mary Johnson (William Brian).
Josephine had 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. And numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Palm Mortuary - Eastern, located at 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123, on January 12, 2026, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The funeral service will follow at the same location on January 12, 2026, at 1:00 pm then committal at 2:00 PM.
