Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois Judy was the eldest of five children born to Michael and Antoinette Kasalo. She graduated from St. Francis DeSales High School and attended Northwestern University.
As a teenager, Judy met the love of her life, Len Billich. The couple wed June 6, 1964 and together, they created a life centered around family and care for others. In the years following the untimely death of Judy's parents, Michael and Antoinette, Judy and Len opened their home to her brothers, providing both emotional and financial support as a true act of selflessness.
Judy's retail career began at Marshall Field's in Chicago, and continued for several years until she and Len relocated to Las Vegas in 1979. There, she continued her work at JCPenney, where she formed lasting friendships, including with her beloved "sister" Phyllis Ippolito. Judy balanced her career while raising three children-Michael, Joni, and Jamie-with Len by her side.
Known for her exceptional shopping skills and her vibrant spirit, Judy was a woman who truly valued her family, friends, and faith. A dedicated parishioner of St. Viator Catholic Church for over 45 years, she found great joy and strength in her community.
Judy will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her devoted husband of more than 60 years, Len Billich; her children, Michael Billich (fiancee Barbara Matisic), Joni Billich Maul (Doug) and Jamie Billich Jingeleski (Jason); her five grandchildren, Austin (Tori) Maul and Brenden Maul, Bronson and Tristan Baker, and Alexa Resnik; her dear brother, Michael (Shirley) Kasalo; her brother-in-law, Marty (Beverly) Billich; and numerous cousins. She also leaves behind her lifelong friend, Phyllis Ippolito.
She was preceded in death by her youngest brother Gary Kasalo.
Judy's quiet strength, love for her family, and deep faith will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
