Kathryn (Katy) Ann Sellers (née Barry), age 75, died peacefully in her home in Henderson, Nevada on September 26, 2014, after a six-month battle with lung cancer. Born April 10, 1939 in Newhall, Iowa, she was a graduate of Newhall High School (1956) and of Iowa State University (1961). While at Iowa State, she met and married Irvin Leroy Sellers (Irv) of Peoria, Illinois. During Katy’s life, she became a “Life Master” bridge player, an avid poker player, and an accomplished seamstress. Her careers included bookkeeping, futures and securities trading, and investment management. Katy and Irv retired to the Las Vegas area in 1993. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irv, and her parents, Leona and Lloyd Barry. She is survived by her aunt, Evelyn Gunderson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three children, Brad Allen Sellers of Chicago, Illinois, Richard Lee Sellers and his wife Wendy Anne of Mechanicsville, Virginia, and Roberta Lynne Sellers of Montpelier, Virginia; and nine grandchildren, Caroline, Derek, and Margaret Sellers (and one great-grandchild Beck Sellers), Michael, Andrew, Mary Catherine, and Nicole Sellers, and Dennis, Jr. and Cole Potridge.
