

Lilia (Ava) was born August 19, 1927 in Cuba to Mr. and Mrs. Echeverria. She attended an all-girls school where she finished her education. She found her soul mate (her one and only love) at the age of 31, when she married Fernando Del Rio, March 8, 1958 in Habana, Cuba. They had two children Virgil (Machi) and Marta. She lived a long and happy life with her soul mate for 36 years.
Lilia (Ava) left Cuba with her family August 11, 1970 arriving in Miami, Florida, where she continued her journey with her family to her permanent residency in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lilia started working in housekeeping at two different casinos, first at the Villa Roma and then at the Holiday Inn until her retirement. She later became an American Citizen.
She loved cooking and making her delicious flan for family and friends, and made sure you didn't leave hungry. She also had a wonderful smile that made you feel loved and welcomed.
Lilia's (Ava) is survived by her son Virgil; daughter Marta; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and one on the way; also a daughter-in-law, son-in-law, sister-in-law and two nephews, all of whom live in Las Vegas, and brought great joy to her life.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Palm Mortuary. Burial will be held at Palm Cemetery (Eastern).
