I just saw this obituary. So very sorry  to hear of this terrible news.
Lou and I worked together in Brooklyn NY at Household Finance Corp, for a few years. Our manager was Ray Buttacavoli.
Lou was such a nice guy, very respectful.

             I will never ever have another friend as close and as special as you were. Your great memory will live on forever. I will never forget how important our friendship was. Rest in Peace my friend, and keep the light on for me!

Lou always had something constructive to say and made me feel that he cared about helping me to be better. He was a great mentor to me and made a great difference in my life. His love of music and baseball were never far from our conversations, but his love for family and friends was greater.

What a super warm friend.  Lou was here when we needed him  most with his weekly phone call or visit. He was such a light in our life.  Lou worked in the auto industry with my me who I have known as a friend for 20 years.    We are sad to hear of Lou's passing.  He will be missed by many.  There are truly not many friends like Louie.  Our prayers are with Lou, Kim and Family.

Lou, or Louie, will always be remembered as a mentor to me.  He was kind, but tough.  Lou was a teacher, through and through. He always expected the best out of those he cared about, and most of all he pushed himself to always be better.  Lou is one of the deepest thinkers, truly a thought "full" individual that never seemed to stop digging deeper to find the reason why.   As tough as he could be, he was considerate to a fault to show others respect.  Respect was paramount to Lou.  His dedication to friends was undying and loyal, and when speaking of his family you could see the depth of his commitment to his loved ones.  I am certain of this; I have never met a man so openly committed to the principles he held dear, and his tenacious "all in" approach to those he loves.  He was the epitome of a true friend.

There will never ever be another Louie. Rest my friend

How great was Lou? I can sum it up this way…. We met during what he would tell his friends were the worst years of his professional life.  He took a sabbatical from the car business and sold insurance. He knew it wasn’t for him but he brought joy to all of his customers and co workers.
I’ll never forget our walks over to the Yardhouse for lunch.
We had many great conversations. Lou was the baseball almanac. The two conversations that I hold most dear when thinking of you is how your determination to play baseball at Brooklyn College made you accept the responsibility of playing catcher purely for the love of the game.
Secondly, you expressed to me the most beautiful idea of what Heaven would be like when you got there.
You’d be walking out into an open field with your parents barely viewable in the distance and your favorite dog would be sprinting to come get you to show you the way. 
You were one of a rare kind . One day you’ll show me how to properly swing the bat. God Bless the Soul of the Great Lou.


"Louie da spiff"  Is what we called him in the car business when we worked together beaucoup years ago!  In the good old, bad old days!  Just when I thought everyone in the car business was a putz, along came Lou.  We had so much fun together, If I hadn't decided to get out of the of the car business I would be working for Lou to this very day.  One of the truly good people of this place has now gone to be with the Father. Jesus has a special place for people who are loved as much as you are Lou. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted" Matthew 5:4  The Lord is close to the broken-hearted, he rescues those whose spirits are crushed" psalm 34:18
Kim, my heart just breaks for you,  please know that he just ADORES you! You'll be together in paradise.

Where do I start? You were like a 2nd father to me, anytime I needed advice, I went to you...you always made a BIG issue turn into something so small, and were always right.  I love you so much! Kellan hit his first home run on Monday, and it was for YOU! He wears 24 for Griffey Jr., but Aaron Judge is his favorite player.  Go YANKEES!

The man the myth the legend. ! Louie always made everyone around him feel special. I know Louie for 50 years. We grew up together. He was  definitely one of a kind. The angels gained  the best ! He loved Kim and Alana with all his heart. I am sure he is playing his guitar in heaven or talking baseball. Or maybe even selling a car! Rest easy my friend 


My heartfelt condolences to the LaRubio family , I had the pleasure of working with Lou and we became friends, he always had an encouraging word and had a way to put a smile on my face, my wife Sharon and I got a chance to meet Lou's wife Kim and would see them on several occasions and Lou was very proud of their daughter Alana.
Lou would call me and Sharon on our respective  birthdays and sing happy birthday to us and he did that for every birthday since I  met him, he will be missed.

Lou and I have been friends for 40 years. I bought a car in Las Vegas and Lou was the finance manager at the Chevy dealership and from there we became fast friends. We both had the love of music, sports and our beloved New York Yankees since we were both from New York City. Lou was responsible for getting me in the car business over 30 years ago. Words will never describe how tragic of a loss this is. Lou was simply the BEST. I'm going to miss you buddy. To Kim and Alana, Lou was just an inspiration to all who knew him. I'll definitely miss the birthday phone calls we made to each other. Love you always bro. My condolences to Kim and Alana. Thanks for all of the memories Lou, you will be missed by many. Heaven gained one classy guy!

Kim, we are very saddened to hear of the lose of your husband, Lou. 
Though we never met you always spoke of him with great kindness.  His talent with music was a topic you spoke of often and the Italian feasts you cooked for him that he so enjoyed. I’ve known Lou for over 20 years.  We met when I worked for a bank that financed cars for the various dealerships where he worked.  I was always impressed with Lou’s integrity.  He frequently  talked about how crazy he was about his wife and daughter.  We often talked about music and how much he loved that too.....I’m sure he’s in rock and roll heaven.  We always called and sang happy birthday on each other’s birthdays....Lou never forgot a birthday!
Such a nice, nice man.....my condolences to his family, may they find comfort in their precious memories of him.  

Lou and I were friends for at least 25 years and I thought the world of Lou. Are birthdays were only 2 days apart but I am the oldest we also lived around the corner from each other and we worked together for quite some time  and I will truly miss my dear friend. Rest in peace✌
